NOT JUST A SOCIAL ORGANIZATION!

It is a wonderful gift to have newly elected members of the Steering Committee because important issues and questions are asked regarding Seacoast Sapphos’ as an organization.  Some of our newest members did not know that over the past few years, Seacoast Sapphos donated hundreds of dollars to local women’s organizations, food pantries, and shelters to include toiletries, and food donated at our dances. During the upcoming Holiday Season, the Steering Committee is preparing and committing: time, money and fulfillment to women in the local seacoast area.  Again, we are targeting women who are “single, live alone, and have little or no family” to help support them financially, socially, or spiritually.  Last year, we prepared “gift bags” for over 20 women in need and much to our dismay found out that this was the “tip of the iceberg”.  In a housing complex of over 500 residents, many more than 20 are in dire need of support and personal contact. This is where your dollars go for membership, raffles, and individual donations.  Yes, we all love the social aspect of our group, but spreading joy during the holiday season and whenever the need is there- is special.  This is what Seacoast Sapphos’ is all about!  Women Giving to Women!  I am proud to be a member, president/editor of such a group and hope the kindness, and spirit of giving continues long after the last dance.

Very Truly Yours, Mitzi Baron, President/Editor

The Dance-Event Committee is always looking for new ideas and insight in planning the dances and events. We are also looking for volunteers to help with the dances and events. All committee meetings are open to members.
